“The customer is the final filter. What survives the whole process is what people wear. I’m not interested in making clothes that end up in some dusty museum."

- Marc Jacobs

In our current world, material and possessions seems to be important to many people. I am not going to pretend that I am not in that group myself, but even I know now that I would rather own pieces of clothing that is minimal, simple, and elegant, rather than owning a bursting closet full of pieces.

What does minimal even mean, in a world of fashion?

In my opinion, it means understated. It means that even though it looks like you just threw on clothing, you actually took the effort to make sure nothing clashes. It also means that the outfit you put together can be worn for the rest of your life, and you only need to change one or two things to make it look new.

So in this world of materialism, I encourage you all to find that minimal piece that calls out your name.

Because let's be honest, after awhile of collecting, we just get tired, and we just want a certain few pieces that brings us back.

In this outfit, I channeled the minimal ideal.

Jacket: Forever 21

Sweater: H&M

Jeans: American Eagle

Shoes: Timberland

Backpack: Phase3/Nordstrom

I don't think it could look more minimal, than throwing on a turtle neck sweater, a pair of black jeans, and a jacket.

But it's the details that matter right?

The details like how I rolled up the bottom of my jeans to show a bit of skin. Or the contrast between my light neutral and white coat from the black internal pieces.

Minimal is the new 'it' and I like it.
