New Year, New Blog
In 2014, I started my blog on a whim, because of boredom.
In 2015, I bit the bullet and purchased my first domain name, www.sofieyah.com.
In 2016, I decided, what the hell, I can do better. So I started afresh.
I moved my blog from Wordpress to Squarespace in October, and I haven't looked back since.
In the past, whenever I have told people about my blog, I have always felt oddly embarrassed by it. Not because of the content, but just because I felt like it didn't reflect my best work.
In the past, I never considered my blog being a potential job, but more as a hobby. However, in this new year, I am going to see it more as a job. Not because I am making any money, but because I want to show the world that I mean business.
This new chapter of my life comes when I need something that can keep me, me and keep me sane, while everything around me falls to pieces. This is fast becoming the only thing in my life that I can control and I am glad that it's here.
Have you ever looked into the sea and just felt calm about everything?
Well, I have. I grew up by the coast, and even though I hate the beach, I love looking at the sea. Because whenever I look into the horizon, it always makes me feel like everything will be okay, no matter how terrible my life is at that moment.
That is the kind of feeling this blog gives me.
It takes a lot of work and many sacrifices for me to get here. While people are out having a social life, I choose to be at home, working on my blog. But when the blog post comes out the way I want it to, it always makes me feel like it's worth it.
So I hope you will join me in this journey. (You can also subscribe to my blog now, so check it out here. But you know, only if you want to )
In this new chapter, I plan on posting 3 times a week, and each day will be a different theme, so to speak.
I am not going to lie and pretend it will not be a rocky journey, but if a journey isn't rocky, then what's the fun in it?
If you are a new visitor to my blog, welcome. Introductions will come shortly (or you can check out my About page too!) but I am a blogger about fashion, make up, skincare, and lifestyle. However, unlike other bloggers, I also blog about books, movies, and my travels. But most importantly, I also believe in working on the soul as much as the appearance (but the soul is definitely more important) so I write about life lessons I've learned, and the important things to learn in life.
I do not claim to be all knowledgable, but I do claim to be constantly learning and trying to better myself.
So whether or not you want to follow me on my journey in 2017, I want to wish you nothing but the very best. Because you deserve it.
