Clarisonic 'Mia 2 Joy w/ Boscia Tsubaki Set' Review

So, here is my review of my Clarisonic. I hope this doesn't disappoint!

Clarisonic Mia 2:

Now, I am hesitating to write this review.

I have given this product a fair amount of time for trail (a whole month) and I don’t know if what I’m about to say is going to be good or bad for the people out there that swear by the Clarisonic or is thinking about getting it. But I will be as truthful as I can.

For starters, I got the Mia 2 which is meant to be travel friendly, as obvious from the Clarisonic Travel Case in the package (which is a nice plastic that definitely feels sturdy). But I have yet to actually travel with it so I don’t know how travel friendly the Mia 2 is.

Moving on to the brush, I can say that  the brush is very soft. I went onto the Clarisonic website and they says to change the brush head every 3 months and after one month, I could see why- the brush bristles definitely gets frayed with use. I also notice that the brush gets a lot less soft with daily use. So definitely think about your financial situation before investing into a Clarisonic. It eats your money every 3 months!

Now, to the overall device, I love it. It has a nice grip and seems to fit into my hands very nicely. When you glide the Clarisonic all over your face you feel it really cleaning up your face. However, (and this is where I am hesitant to write this review) I am an acne prone person, especially on the face, and after about three weeks I noticed that while my skin was overall better, the places where I don’t tend to break out at (my chin, around my mouth and the sides of my forehead) was starting to break out! While my acne didn’t converge in one place, I think the Clarisonic made it a lot more spread out. But, it didn’t bring out the worst. It’s just mini acne that you know will go away in a few days. But for me, that still isn’t the best option. [And yes, I clean my Clarisonic + brush head after every use.]

Yes, in terms of cleansing the face it does a pretty decent job. However, I still don’t know if I love it or hate it. I feel that with a machine like this, it’s either love or hate, very little in between. And so if you are thinking about getting one (I have a few friends who are very interested) I recommend you holding off. Mostly because $150 + $25/3 months is a lot of money investment. If my Clarisonic doesn’t work in another 2 months, I might just sell mine away for a lot cheaper (with a new brush head of course~). Let me know if you like the Clarisonic or not. For now though, I am on the fence about this product that I was hoping to rave about.

Boscia Cleansing Oil Gel:

I never tried Boscia until I bought this kit. And I think I’m semi in love with this Cleansing Oil. I have heard quite a few YouTube gurus talk about this cleansing oil gel in their favourites (although it’s typically seen in green rather than pink) and so I knew that this was the best way to test it out on my skin.

Now, I think I have normal-sensitive skin. In the few years I’ve been into make up and skincare, I realize that my skin is a lot more sensitive than I give it credit for so I’m careful about what skincare regime I use.

This gel goes on softly and smoothly and really shouldn’t have the word “Oil” in the title because it really is just a liquidy gel consistency.

When you first wipe it onto your face you feel the smoothing effects of it and once you’re done using your Clarisonic and you wash it off, you feel the smoothness of the gel.

However, while I do enjoy it, I will not be purchasing it individually. The reason being is that while it does leave your skin feeling soft, that feeling is extremely temporary- it only feels like that once you wash your face and then poof, it’s gone.

Furthermore, I also feel like it doesn’t clean my face extremely well.

I have heard that it is great at removing make up, but so far I have not tested that part of the gel and nor do I intend to (I feel that the gel is a little too light and soft to actually remove any make up- but perhaps that is why there is such a huge rave around it).

Is this product worth the hype?

Perhaps. But not if you have skin like mine that is encompassed with large pores and can break out on a moment’s notice.

Boscia Deep Hydrating Sleep Mask:

So before I review this product, I must first say that I have only used this ONCE. So if you do not trust me enough, just ignore the rest of this post.

Anyways, so I put this one a few hours before I went to bed. And by the way, I had sleeping with stuff like these because I’m a tosser in bed.

Okay, now, I put it on and it kind of feels like a night cream except it just doesn’t completely sink into your skin before you sleep like normal night cream. It was a cool cream on the skin and I could feel the hydration coming on.

However, after I went to bed, I just couldn’t sleep! It felt sticking on my pillow and so I decided to wash it off so I could sleep (by then though, I had already worn it for about 4 hours) and after I washed it off, my skin felt smooth and, like the title says, hydrated.

I haven’t used it since so I don’t know if it will continue it’s use like that. I will keep you guys all updated!

Boscia Green Tea Blotting Linens:

I’m sorry.

I am apologizing because I haven’t had a chance to use this yet. If you read the beginning of my post, you will know that I have normal/sensitive skin so that means I don’t get oily often. Furthermore, I live in a city that gets hot very very rarely except in the summer, so I have even less of a chance to use it.

All I can say about this is that it really does smell like green tea! It smells amazing!

Would I repurchase?

Definitely not.

UPDATE: I have stopped using my Clarisonic for a week now (I had to charge it- when it's fully charged you can use it up to twice a week in 3-4 weeks!) and my skin has definitely gotten better. My acne has finally calmed down and my skin doesn't look like I just had my period (since you know, girls get really hormonal during that time of the month that can lead to break outs and such).

If you do swear by the Clarisonic, let me know! I am very disappointed that this isn't the product for me, but I still hope to use it and hope I change my mind!
