As someone who loves clothes, I think it's really easy to fall into a rut and only purchase neutral and "safe" clothes. I forget that fashion is about exploration, figuring out myself, while having fun at the same time.
I recently purchased this top some a small boutique and I am utterly infatuated by it. I love the color scheme of it. I love how it mixes in a safe color (blue) with a daring color (neon pink). If the top itself was just neon pink, I would've been more hesitant, but with the blue and the hints of white, it definitely makes the top more me. The rose patter is also so elaborate that upon first glance, you can't even see it very well.
In some ways, I am always glad that a majority of American schools do not have uniforms, because it really helps every person explore a part of them through clothing. Even though it does mean a boom in the clothing industry, I forget that fashion is also a way of expressing myself. This summer, I am making it my goal to have fun with clothes, but also dress in a way that makes me feel good and look good.
