'Now You See Me 2' Review

'Now You See Me 2' Review

Honestly, I loved the first movie because of how unique of a concept it was to me. I enjoyed how it was so centered on magic, and then you got to see how it was actually done. I loved that. That it wasn't just about the illusion, but it also tried to dispel it.

This new movie, even though it is titled with a '2' at the end, you can totally watch it with no need to watch the first movie. Because, this could be taken as a good or bad thing, they review the first movie in a very quick way.

While I thought it was nice how they tried to cater it to the audience members who never watched the first movie, I also kind of hated it because of how simple they made the first movie. It was definitely a great refresher though, so it was still helpful. They also included the past scene with Dylan's father, which I was very grateful of, and you will be too if you decide to view the movie ;)

Without giving any spoilers away that the trailer doesn't display, there is a new Horseman and honestly, I loved who they cast.  She was the wonderful amateur, clumsy, yet fantastic Horseman who brought all the other guys to shame. She is definitely a lot more stronger, emotionally and mentally, than the first female Horseman. She commanded respect. Which I liked.

Unlike the first movie, there are way more characters to keep track of in this movie, but they were woven so seamlessly that you wonder how they did it.

There are a lot of new characters, and a lot of old characters that return in the most unexpected way.

This movie is not shy of suspense, comedy, and plot twists.

Even though you may think the new movie may be similar to the first movie, you would be disappointed. It is entirely unique on its own, and could've just been given a new name to be see as a completely unrelated movie.

If I had to choose between the two movies, I would not actually be able to pick one. Which is rare for me, to not be able to make a decision.

Regardless, I loved the actors and the actresses in this movie. There are few women, but they are all strong, leader-types and that makes me a very happy camper.

I highly recommend the movie and while my boyfriend said he didn't like how they tried to put in a romance, I actually loved how they managed to put it in here, while still staying focused on the main plot.

I'm waiting for it to be available on iTunes so I can own it!
