How to Enjoy Bullet Journaling

How to Enjoy Bullet Journaling

Sometimes Bullet Journalling can be a pain because of how much work it takes to keep it up to date.

However, there are definitely some things that can be done to help make the process more enjoyable and, dare I say, fun.

So below are my tips for enjoying the entire process!

Use a good quality notebook.

While others out there tell you it doesn't really matter what notebook you use, I say otherwise. However, I will say that I will not, and never, push a specific brand for you to purchase, because that is entirely up to you.

Anyway, I say to use a good quality notebook because you do not want your notebook to fall apart. You are going to be using it daily, and sometimes in one day you will be using it multiple times, so it really isn't a good idea to buy a cheap notebook. Of course, you don't need anything super fancy either, I just recommend a notebook that can last.

Invest in a pen you know works and will work for a long period of time.

I can't even begin to tell you how often I have used a pen, I love it like crazy, and then a month later it dies on me. I am often scolded by my father for buying pens when we have so many. But pens are important!

Because if you do not like the pen you are using, writing in your BuJo, or anything else for that matter, will not be as enjoyable since you would be constantly worried about it not working. So own a pen that you know will work.

I also will not push a brand in your direction, but I am a huge fan of gel ink pens. They are super smooth. I've officially given up on ball point pens.

Consolidate your life.

If you are one of those people who have a work calendar, a personal calendar, and even a blog calendar, then I suggest you make them all into one big calendar.

That is why I chose to use the BuJo in the first place. I was tired of separate all my calendar's and to-do lists by the areas of my life.

Either way, they are part of your own life, so why not put them all together?

Find inspiration.

If you are inspired, I believe you can do anything. And the same goes for Bullet Journaling. Even if you want the most basic and simple Bullet Journal (as the inventor of the Bullet Journal intended it to be), you need to find the inspiration to make it uniquely yours.

You should need it, not want it.

While this is a good rule of thumb for shopping, I think it works for Bullet Journaling as well.

If you are Bullet Journaling because others are doing it, you will never enjoy the process. But if there is a need for it in your life, to help better your daily life workings, then you will have fun doing it, but also enjoy the moment when you can list out the things you got to do that day.
