VIIcode 'O2M Oxygen Eye Mask For All Night Repair' Review
I am all about my skin these days. I feel like make up has become a back burner for me (not that I don't care about it, it's just expensive haha) and I've started to really take care of my skin.
So when VIIcode reached out to invite me to try their eye mask, I almost had to say yes. If you're interested in a product like this, check out my review below!
I am a tossing and turning sleeper, so I usually never do any kind of face/eye mask that requires overnight treatment since I know by the time I wake up it'll have all been wiped off my face.
I gave this product a try because VIIcode was generous enough to provide it for me to try. Please refer to my Disclaimer page for my full disclaimer.
thicker gel consistency than other eye masks
One of the first things I noticed when I opened the first package was how much thicker the actual eye mask is compared to other eye masks I've used. It was definitely designed to be holding more product than an average eye mask, which makes sense since it can be used for up to 8 hours.
designed to wear to bed so there is a cloth on the outside
Honestly, I was skeptical of wearing an eye mask to bed but this product is INGENIOUS in that there is a cloth exterior, so when you are laying on your bed, none of the product will get on your pillow. I honestly love that about this! They really thought of everything.
very nice initial cooling sensation
Not going to lie, I went to bed, and then as I was falling asleep I remembered I had to try out this eye mask, so then I groggily went to the bathroom to put it on. Man, the cooling sensation is real. It felt really great against my skin.
dried out in the middle of the night - peeled off a little bit like tape under your eyes
Unfortunately maybe because I had to keep taking it off to readjust it under my eye upon initial application, one side of my eye mask dried out in the middle of the night. I, semi-consciously, took it off because even in my sleepy state, I knew it wasn't doing anything any more. I distinctly remember it almost peeling off like take under my skin. Which is interesting considering how it's meant to decrease signs of wrinkling and aging with consistent use.
skin did feel very smooth once it was taken off
HOWEVER, despite that weird consistency, I felt my skin after I took it off and it felt great! It was smooth, and definitely hydrated.
When I took off the other mask, my under eye also felt the same.
not going to lie, its pricey
$55/box, and each box comes with 6 eye masks. They suggest using it 2-3 times a week, and up to using 3 full boxes to see results.
Now, I'm not a mathematician but that would mean ~$10/eye mask. Of course, it's to be used for a longer time than a standard eye mask, but still, that's quite expensive.
You should get it!
→ It depends...
it's not worth it.
I'm going to stick with 'It depends' as the recommendation.
I wouldn't say it isn't worth it because it is effective, and definitely a good booster for your under eye area. But I also wouldn't recommend you get it immediately because of the price.
Therefore, if you can 1. afford it, and 2. not toss and turn in your sleep, then you should get it. But like I said, it depends for me.
The brand reached out to me and said that if you are a tosser and turner like me in your sleep, you can wear them for 3-4 hours during the day.
What's your favorite eye treatment in the market?
Would love some recommendations!
